When Pain Meets Perseverance

Hi, my mom journal,

I’m always so happy to talk to you all!

Today I had the day off. I had a few things I wanted to do around the house, but I found myself just laying in bed trying to go to sleep. That didn’t work. I laid down because my leg was hurting, and it was so aggravating and annoying.

After I gave birth and for a while afterward, I started experiencing pain in my back that would travel down to my leg. Before I saw a doctor, I did what we all sometimes do, I diagnosed myself on Google (lol). Eventually, I found out it was sciatic pain, likely brought on from pregnancy.

This morning, that pain was bad. It really slowed me down , like it took the fire right from under me. I got in a little funk while I was lying there. I couldn’t even sleep. I kept opening my eyes and asking myself, “What are you doing?”

Finally, I got up and started cooking. And let me tell you, cooking is therapy. It made me feel good again. It made me smile. I really enjoy it. It’s calming, it’s grounding, and lately, I’ve been feeling so good about myself.

I’ve lost 11 pounds in a month, and I know what I’m doing is working. So if you needed a sign or a little push, this is it. Get up and go. Get up and do it. Because if not now… when?

I hope your day is just as amazing as you are. Talk to you soon, my mom machines.

Bloom through the day.
